Privacy Policy

I. Introduction

            Your privacy matters!

This Privacy Policy explains how Personal Information is collected, safeguarded, and used on and in connection with the website (“Site”), as well as by phone or by paper.

II. Changes to the Privacy Policy

As this Site’s functionality and/or products or services offered through the Site evolve, this Privacy Policy may change from time to time.  We encourage you to check back regularly to confirm whether there have been any changes to this Privacy Policy, and we reserve the right to amend the Privacy Policy at any time, for any reason. The date of the last revision to the Privacy Policy will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the bottom of this page.

III. Types of Data Collected via the Site

a. Information You Proactively or Intentionally Provide

The Site includes a Contact Form and provides an email address for contact purposes ("Contact Email").  If you send a communication to the Site’s Contact Email or submit information using the Site’s Contact Form, we will use the information you provide in order to carry out business purposes such as responding to a question or request, and we will retain that information for a period of time consistent with fulfilling that business purpose.

Because the Contact Email and Contact Form allow individuals to submit free-form, unstructured information, the individual has full control over the nature and amount of information they provide.  Typically, these may include (but are not limited to) any of the following types of general data (e.g., names, email addresses, and mobile/landline business/personal telephone numbers that are provided by the individual).

b. Technical Data Related to Use of the Site

This Site uses third-party data analytics to assess site usage. All technical analytics data is anonymous and/or de-identified; it does not identify any specific user or individual, and the Site has no access to underlying data that could potentially make such identification possible.

The types of technical data collected include, but is not limited to: number of unique users, IP address or range and associated geographic information, Site usage (e.g., browsing history, search terms, number of clicks, referring/exit pages, date/time stamp, time on Site), pages viewed, computer type, operating system and platform type, and Internet service provider.

Because these analytics are gathered using third party tools (such as Google Analytics), the precise scope of collection may change from time to time according to changes in the analytics’ platform.

c. Cookies

This Site uses cookies (e.g., pieces of code or text placed on your computer by us or third-parties when you browse our Sites) to your web browser (if your browser’s preferences allow it) to collect data when you browse our Sites.  Cookie settings can be controlled in your Internet browser to automatically reject some forms of cookies.  If you view our website without changing your cookie settings, you are indicating your consent to receive all cookies from our Sites.

You have the right to opt out of the use of cookies.  If you do not allow cookies, some features and functionality of our Sites may not operate as expected. In addition to cookies, we place technological tools (and allow certain third parties to place technological tools) such as tags and beacons (e.g., code scripts that are primarily used to track visitors’ activities on our Sites by web analytics software), Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, and other tools, to collect your data for the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy.

For more information about what cookies are, and how to configure your browser settings to avoid the use of cookies, please see the detailed information available online at

IV. How We Use Your Data

Technical Data (including information generated from the use of cookies) is used to measure traffic to the Site.

Information submitted via the Contact Email or Contact Form may be used to respond to queries, address requests, provide products, services, or information we think you may be interested in, and used for any other purposes consistent with the submission of the information.

V.    How We Share Your Data

We may share your Personal Information in a variety of ways including, but not limited to the below:

  • With third parties to fulfill service requests and to perform business functions (e.g., data hosting services; responding to inquiries about books or fulfilling order requests; packaging, mailing and delivering services; customer support and consulting services; and event registration).

  • With third parties as required by law or to protect the Site or the author in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process served on the Site or author; (b) protect and defend the author’s rights or property; or (c) protect the personal safety of the author or members of the public in appropriate circumstances.

  • With third parties under other unanticipated situations, but only with your consent.

This Site does not sell Personal Information.

VI. How You Can Manage the Processing of Your Data

The Site’s processing of your data is based upon your consent, contract performance (e.g., your purchase of products), legitimate business interest (e.g., marketing of goods and services), or compliance with law.  You have the right to object to our processing of your data or to restrict our processing of your data. In addition, if you have consented to the processing of your Personal Information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

VII. California Privacy Rights

This is an author’s website – this Site and the underlying business do not meet any of the threshold requirements for applicability of the California Consumer Privacy Act.

VIII. Children

This Site does not knowingly collect Personal Data from or market to children under the age of 13.  If you’re under 13, please don’t submit any information.

IX. How We Protect Personal Data

To ensure your privacy is protected, we recommend that you review the privacy statements of these other linked sites, applications, or other digital platforms.

XI. How You Can Access, Change and Delete Your Personal Information

We rely on you to update and correct your Personal Information.  If you have provided Personal Information via the Contact Form or Contact Email, please feel free to provide updated information at your convenience.

XII.  Transmission of Data to Other Countries

Your Personal Information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may be less stringent than the laws in your country and where the government, courts, or law enforcement may be able to access your data.  By submitting your Personal Information to us, you agree to the transfer, storage and processing of your Personal Information in the United States.

XIII.  Right to Complain to Supervisory Authority

This Site does not intentionally market to individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA).  However, if you are in the EEA, you have the right, as a data subject, to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement, if you believe that the processing of your personal data does not comply with legal requirements.
